As preparations intensify for the 2026 Courier and Logistics Management Institute (CLMI) International Conference and Investiture, the Institute has paid a courtesy visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, who is the Chairman and Distinguished Special Guest of Honour for the event.
The conference, themed “Powering African Trade and Entrepreneurship Through Smart Logistics,” is expected to bring together key stakeholders from the logistics, courier, supply chain and trade sectors across Africa to discuss strategies for strengthening regional trade and driving economic growth through innovative logistics solutions.
The visit highlighted the growing partnership between the Courier and Logistics Management Institute (CLMI) and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting logistics, trade and entrepreneurship as key drivers of Africa’s economic development.
The CLMI delegation was led by the Institute’s Executive Chairman and included the Vice Chairman, Professor Pharm. Chizomam Ann Emeje; the Registrar, Mr. Kayode Jacobs; and Mr. Ogungbayi Amos.
During the meeting, the delegation updated the former President on preparations for the 2026 CLMI International Conference and Investiture. Discussions also focused on the strategic importance of smart logistics in facilitating intra-African trade, attracting investment, driving industrialisation and accelerating sustainable economic transformation across the continent.
The 2026 CLMI International Conference and Investiture is expected to convene chief executive officers, senior government officials, policymakers, investors, logistics professionals, academics, development partners and other stakeholders from across Africa and beyond to examine practical solutions for strengthening the continent’s logistics and trade ecosystem and enhancing its global competitiveness.
The conference will serve as a platform for high-level dialogue on leveraging smart logistics to accelerate trade, stimulate investment, promote industrialisation and unlock entrepreneurship across Africa.
The Courier and Logistics Management Institute (CLMI) said it remains committed to fostering collaboration between government, industry, academia and the private sector through initiatives that promote innovation, attract investment and support sustainable economic development.
