Maritime Law Association Elects New Executive as Mike Igbokwe becomes President

The Nigerian Maritime Law Association (NMLA), an affiliate of the CMI, has elected a new Executive Committee at its 16th Annual General Meeting held in Lagos to run its affairs in the next two years with Mr. Mike Igbokwe, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, as President.

In a statement by the association, the newly elected leadership team will steer the Association into the next phase of its mission to promote the advancement of maritime law and practice in Nigeria.

Others members of its new Executive Committee are, 1st Vice President: Professor Adewale Olawoyin, SAN, FCIArb, 2nd Vice President: Dr. Emeka Akabogu, SAN, Honorary Secretary: Mrs. Nneka Obianyor, FCArb, Assistant Secretary: Mr. ‘Nonso Azih, Treasurer: Chief Omolola Ikwuagwu FCIArb, while the post of Financial Secretary went to : Ms Kashimana Tsumba and Mrs. Mojisola Jaiye-Gbenle was elected as Publicity Secretary.

The NMLA is an affiliate of the Comité Maritime International (CMI) and serves as a professional body that promotes the unification, development, and improvement of maritime law and its administration in Nigeria.
